Considering where we are with the narrative of the Saga Campaign, I realised that if Gandalf was captured, there was no possible way for Rohan to be ready to face the onslaught of Isengard. Who else would have been able to release the king from Grima Wormtongue’s hold and restore him to health? And if Gandalf had not warned Eomer and Theodred of Saruman’s betrayal, would Ugluk not have made it back to Isenguard with the hobbits? Well the answer was simpler than I thought it might have to be, much simpler. I thought I would have to resort to Glorfindel being awesome, or bringing along Galadriel to recover the king of Rohan. But instead the simplest solution is often the best, as I hope you agree with this bonus chapter in my Saga Campaign. As with The Council of Elrond this isn’t strictly necessary to the thrust of the story-line, but was helpful for my own planning if nothing else. I won’t be able to post anything for the next while, so until I return I shall leave you with The Counsel of Wormtongue.
